This graph shows the change in frequency of critical erosive velocities from pre-development to post-development. The horizontal line represents a critical flow rate, above which sediment transport and channel erosion occurs. Peak flows increase in both magnitude and frequency after development, with many more exceedances of the critical flow rate.
