With land conservation, watershed managers must decide which natural resources and/or cultural areas must be conserved. Five types of land may need to be conserved in a subwatershed:

• < Critical habitats

• Aquatic corridors

• Hydrologic reserve areas

• Water hazards

• Cultural areas
